Re: Backstory Help Thread
Nova, that actually works. You'd be the first person to play an elf from Edheliu, since they've been off limits for forever. Nice.

Grimoire
Grimoire is the son of a minor noble family from the far end of nowhere. Whichever king had granted them their title is long dead, along with the nation that he governed. Yet still the family thrived leading the farmers of the area. By any account his family is nobility in name and legend only. The only thing that differentiated them from the other farmers of the area is that they had enough money to hire others to farm their land, while the family acted as the keepers of law and knowledge.
Grimoire’s life was one of solitude and learning. It was not until a bard called Thomdrill that he realized there was a world out there to explore. For months the bard entertained in the town and the world opened up to Grimoire. Some of his favorite stories were the tales of Oraus and his Companions. Yet even though he loved the stories of Oraus the stories that stuck with him were the ones of Maegamarth and his injustices. After seeing Grimoire’s interest in his stories Thomdrill began to tell him stories of heroes and villains.
Seeing how enraptured Grimoire was with the stories Thomdrill told he told Grimoire that he was a member of a secret organization called The Night Ravens that helped the armies fighting Meagamarth. The group consisted of those that could not physically fight the armies of Meagamarth, yet still wanted to help. They supply food, weapons, safe passage, information, and much more. In this way they were able to keep the fight going. In fact Thomdrill told Grimoire that he was a member of this group and that if Grimoire wanted to help he could give whatever he could and it would go to help the cause.
After sneaking money and supplies out of his house and giving it all to Thomdrill, Thomdrill told him that he would be back soon and tell Grimoire how the fighting went and come for more supplies. That day never came.
Grimoire new that Thomdrill had been captured and that it was up to him to find out how that had happened. He told his father that he wanted to study in one of the cities, and his father approved whole heartedly. So Grimoire left his home hoping to find some word of Thomdrill. At first it was easy to track him out of the area, but then it got harder and harder to the point where Grimoire couldn’t find a trace of him. Not only could he not find Thomdrill but he couldn’t find The Night Ravens. It was at this time he figured out what happened. The Night Ravens had been found and eliminated. The fact that no one had ever seemed to hear of The Night Ravens just proved how much of a secret they were.
Grimoire decided to avenge the group and took up their standard; a black raven, on a white background. He also changed his name to Grimoire. His reasons were two fold; Grimoire was a loyal companion to Oraus of legend and Grimoire was also a form of storing magic knowledge before magic was lost to the world. The idea of naming himself after a source of arcane knowledge was too good to pass up.
Grimoire knew he would need others to help him in his fight and heard about a group called Fury of the Called. Finding their trail wasn’t hard, but that’s just the start of Grimoire’s story.

Re: Backstory Help Thread
The amount of magic present in the Eryndor story is tricky, so saying that you're named after a fabled adventurer is better than being named after the book of spells. Another small thing, since we have a map of the continent you can choose where you're from, there's no need to be vague.

As they believed the day lost, Fury of the Called and the Crusade arrived and help turn the tide against the undead raiders. Re: Backstory Help Thread
Almost a perfectly fine backstory, only there really isn't a designation between Human and Elven lands, the Elves were on an island all by themselves up until last year so they really don't have any land holdings that touch upon human inhabited land.
