Re: Garb and stuff
Garb, it should only be required to wear during events and universal garb guidelines need to be set. It's worded kinda loosely

While Plaid is technically right, Eldy has a point. Sorry, but the fact that's he wearing less garb doesn't make him better or worse at anything. If he were wearing garb that isn't garb (underarmor for instance) then you could say something. Fact of the matter: Garb isn't highly enforced anywhere other then Rag and other similarly "big" events. I know that a whole new level of criticism I just opened myself up for ,but, it's true.
Do you need garb to play? Yes
Does it need to be "good?" Not really

Re: Garb and stuff
I said not being in garb is cheating, not being in shitty garb is cheating. Go ahead and wear shitty garb. I don't care. I'm talking about Jabronie McJabroner who decides its cool to wear a tabard and denim bluejeans and call that garb.
And there are pretty precise guidelines. Wrap pants and a modern tshirt are pretty expressly defined as not garb. However Just wrap pants alone are defined as garb. Go figure we don't want people fighting in t-shirts.
Also also, I never said we should enforce garb outside of events. We have garb optional sunday practice. Thats about all we can do and all I really care to enforce.

Other then the fact that is awesome word play, yes you're right. Jabronie don't got no buzy-ness on the Dag field in dat outfit. Garb does have standards and I fully agree that if you can't find minimum garb then your doing it wrong.

Personally IDC. I wouldn't mind if people just showed up regular clothes and started fighting. However I don't run Dag so it's irrelphant what I want.
P.S- I don't think I need to clarify this, but, just in case. I'm attacking and even defending no one here. Just making a point that garb rules are loosely goosey (at least from my POV) and should be looked at carefully due to the fact that they are requirements ,but, everyone looks at garb and even thinks about a "fantasy setting" differently.
Also Plaid smells and Eldy is a poop head. Ha, I win the 4th grader fight and now I get your limited edition Mew card and it will decorate my Mongoose 10 speed bike tire.

Re: Garb and stuff
I only have ever argued for minimums. I can't ask anything less of anyone and there is a lot of room for what minimum garb is especially with the new rules wording. I don't see why its difficult or even debatable.

This may be true, but I have seen everyone of those people in and out of garb cheating. The argument that if you aren't following all of the rule then you aren't playing "dagorhir" would make it so nobody in Mt Pleasant and most of dagohir is actually playing to all of it's rules. Afterall it is in the rules that you have to scream and fall prone everytime that you die.

While the guidelines do allow for less garb, they are not very precise, the term "modern" still leaves a lot to checkers descrestion, also the rules say that t shirt and other "modern" garb is allowed provided an effort is made to conceal it or make it less obtrusive. Yet I constantly hear people complain "oh I can see his t shirt under his tunic." or "His underarmor sleeves aren't covered by his talbard." If you can tell that people are making an effort to wear garb over their forbidden garments do we really need to not let them fight, because they didn't conceal it 100% Concealing it under garb usually makes it look not "obviously modern" which I think is the wording they like to use for forbidden garments in the MOA.

This is true, but there is no need to be overly strict about it.

Re: Garb and stuff
Honestly, if I can see your t-shirt, underarmor, drug rug, blue jeans, basketball shorts under your tabard and wrap pants you aren't making much effort.
