Mostly cause she loves some Fury Nova is supposed to be young, impetuous, passionate and feels a deep need to make up for the absence of her people in the troubles the continent have dealt with since most of the elves left. However, the continent is a big place, and having somewhere to call home, especially somewhere with a lifetree, would be most excellent in her eyes. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Novariel)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 21:49:27 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4309,from=rss#post4309https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4309,from=rss#post4309quote:Toland wrote: A contingent of Templars, being founded by Atalan, are dedicating themselves to the defense of the lifetree. To clear this up, the goal and objective of the Poor Brothers and Sisters of the Lifetree of Belegar is to protect all who wish to immigrate or simply make a pilgrimage to the Lifetree. They are associated or at least want to associate much more closely with the Paladins (consider that while the Templars in reality were subject to the laws of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, they were actually led by the Catholic Church and swore their fealty to the Papacy, not Jerusalem), especially since the majority of those who join would be those who can not become Paladins because they can not wield life energy. The lifestyle and expectations would not be something for someone who did not already want to dedicate themselves to being a Paladin, on top of that, there should be strong peer pressure within the ranks to test as a Paladin if you haven't already. They do represent a militarized force. They probably would work well with the Belegarian military and probably have standing agreements. But they would argue very forcefully that they are independent warrior monks beholden to whomever is their leader, not soldiers beholden to a general. (This is flavor, out of character, I am still Fury, but not all the Lifetrar would necessarily be Fury).nondisclosed_email@example.com (Atalan)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 19:40:08 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4308,from=rss#post4308https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4308,from=rss#post4308Or Nova could chill with Finn in his luxurious villa in the burgeoning city of Belfalas. That way you don't have to be the leader of the Elves (which leaves us RP wiggle room story wise) but you'll be important enough to make decisions and have soldiers under your command.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheManTheyCallJayne)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 16:14:00 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4306,from=rss#post4306https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4306,from=rss#post4306Well, here's what is going on, lifetree wise. A contingent of Templars, being founded by Atalan, are dedicating themselves to the defense of the lifetree. They are a ?sovereign? division of the Belegarian Army. Also, the Belegarian Army is sure to have some peeps chillin around the tree proper. Amnom is doing all of this stuff. Finally, the paladins have founded a new school in Belegar, presumably close to the lifetree. Talk to Arias about this stuff. Nova, you could write yourself into one of these groups, or start your own group. It would make sense for the elves to leave a group behind to guard the lifetree, maybe you can do something with that? Also, we need to get the belegarian lifetree logo designed. I'ma go yell at peeps.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toland)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 14:38:43 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4305,from=rss#post4305https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4305,from=rss#post4305Imma stick my noggin in here since I love RP shit, and Nova is an Edheliu elf who'd love to be all up in that lifetree's business if you know what I mean. Nova was there when Riadrin was killed (was my first Eryndor event!) so it makes sense that she was one of the edheliu forces that cleared out the nasties post-legacy event events and decided to stay and help guard the lifetree and rebuild Belegaria. I can't wait to get to work! Another thing, Jayne has shown me a sweet map of Belegaria, can I get a link to that?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Finn Tehviking)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 13:48:53 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4302,from=rss#post4302https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4302,from=rss#post4302We are rebuilding just about everything. There were some ruins left in a few of the cities, but undead don't have needs, therefore have no infrastructure to support that. I imagine the sewers were still good in belegar, since there was no reason for them to be destroyed, and the ports in belefalas would still be running since they were used. In fact, of everything in belegaria, the ports are the thing, more than likely, that has been worked and maybe even improved upon. The rest of the city would be ruins where those waiting to be shipped out would stay, and boat making facilities. (you can't just raze those from the ground). There might be some smithys and the like as well, that's up to you.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toland)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 13:39:32 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4301,from=rss#post4301https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4301,from=rss#post4301thx T-Baby, How bout infrastructure? Are the major cities still intact or are we rebuilding everything? Also, any information you can point me to regarding the Endlands and the port city of Belfalas would awesome.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Finn Tehviking)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 13:30:57 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4300,from=rss#post4300https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4300,from=rss#post4300i got this one. When we first enter belegaria, the natives were black orcs and undead and the land was completely corrupted with necrocrotic energy. This happened a while ago, and is referred to has the Black Spell. Now, shortly after we rolled in, the elves cleared out (almost) all of the orcs and undead and then the combined forces finished the job. Once we got Riadarin, (the guy we killed at the legacy day event), then we planted a life tree. This cleared up the all the necrocrotic energy and within a week Belegaria was once again the tropical paradise it once was. There aren't any natives, except those refuges who managed to escape the outskirts of Belegaria and become refuges. However, all kind of people have heard tales of the lifetree and are migrating to it. Lifetrees are kind of a big deal, and people just subconsciously want to be near them.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toland)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 12:20:00 +0000 Re: What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4299,from=rss#post4299https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4299,from=rss#post4299@Jayne: I plan on posting some story stuff here, but I want it to jive with whats in your noggin, so I'm going to post various questions in this "What this is" thread. Good plan? So... a question to get me started: What was the state of Belegaria when we came in? What are the natives like?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Finn Tehviking)Fri, 16 Dec 2011 09:41:34 +0000 What this ishttps://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4297,from=rss#post4297https://bfuryofthecalled.runboard.com/p4297,from=rss#post4297Hey everyone, Here is the board for talking about New Belegaria stuff. It's where we can talk about all the RP aspects of the fact that the Fury now has a home base, and a place for storyline stuff to get hashed out. Also all the cool maps and titles I've been planning can be put into practice.nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheManTheyCallJayne)Wed, 14 Dec 2011 18:10:35 +0000
